Opat has Public Liability Insurance of $20 million. Additional liabilities are covered within State regulations such as Workover.
A reputation in Painting & Building Maintenance such as that of OPAT does not come overnight. The story begins in 1949 with company founder David Opat. David learned the skills of painting and decorative finishes in the family business in Poland before WWII. Post war found David in Paris where he ran his painting business for two years. In May 1949 David arrived in Melbourne, Australia where he quickly established a new painting and decorating business, operating from a small garage in Smith Street, St. Kilda.
David developed the OPAT business over the next sixty nine years to become one of Australia’s most respected painting companies, establishing the motto, "Quality you can trust". In 2014 David retired and is now succeeded by the next generation of management committed to continuing the operations of the company with the quality and integrity David established.
The Queensland arm of OPAT was purchased by Chris Hussey in 2002, and we at OPAT endeavor to provide customers with the highest standards of quality, integrity and service while keeping costs at a competitive price
